خلاصه داستان : فیلم داستان یک جنگجوی بومی جاودانه به نام «آبگوار» را دنبال می‌کند که برای بیش از ۶۰۰ سال در جستجوی عشق ابدی خود، «جاناینا»، است. او پس از مرگ، به شکل پرنده‌ای در می‌آید و در چهار دوره مهم تاریخ برزیل دوباره متولد می‌شود:

As a backdrop to the romance, the feature highlights four phases of Brazilian history: colonization, slavery, the Military Regime and the future, in 2096, when there will be a war for water.
